Rules of Entry Baby Of The Year Competition
  1. The child being entered must be YOUNGER than 10 yrs.
  2. Only recent pictures must be entered.
  3. No naked pictures will be accepted.
  4. In all Competitions, we reserve the right to reject any entries that are incomplete, incomprehensible, damaged or otherwise deficient.
  5. We also reserve the right to reject or remove entries that are unlawful, indecent, racist, inflammatory, defamatory or which we consider to be otherwise harmful to the goodwill and reputation of our website and the Competition in question.
  6. Voting is done via sms to the shortcode 40131 and attracts a cost of R20/sms. No free minutes apply.
  7. DO NOT vote for your child BEFORE we have sent you an email advising that your child has been accepted
  8. All votes received before your child has been accepted will not be counted and your network will still charge you for these sms'
  9. The weekly finalist is chosen based on the number of votes they received for that week.
  10. Each week the child with the most votes automatically becomes a finalist for the main prize.
  11. Votes are not carried over from one week to the next this is done in order to give every one a fair chance of winning during any given week
  12. The number of votes that a child has received can only be made public once the competition has ended and the winner has been announced
  13. My Baby Books SA does not in anyway whatsoever guarantee work be it on television or print or other media
  14. Please note that registering your child with an agency is no guarantee of modeling/casting work.
  15. The agency is usually approached by companies looking for models.
  16. If the company chooses your child you will be called.
  17. Your registration with an agency does not mean that you will receive any money unless your child is used in an advert.
  18. The winner's portfolio will be with an agency and the agency will provide these details to numerous players in the industry. If a company wanting to do a new advert like what they see in your child, that might just be the start of your child's advertising career.
  19. Winners will be notified via email and text message and also published on the website.
  20. The FINALISTS will be published each week.
  21. The FINAL winner of the main prize (R5 000 plus a TV Casting Contract) will be chosen by a panel of judges from all the Finalists and published in December 2026

Voting Terms and Conditions

  • ​My Baby Book SA operates a premium-rated SMS line for voting purposes related to the Kids TV Casting Competition.
  • Voting is done via SMS to the shortcode 36011. Each SMS submitted costs R5.00 and allocates 50 votes (equivalent to R0.10 per vote).
  • To participate, users must send the name of the entrant they wish to vote for via SMS. Each valid SMS received will allocate 50 votes to that entrant.
  • Example: SMS the name of your chosen entrant to 36011 to allocate 50 votes at a cost of R5.00 per SMS.
  • Network and/or administration fees apply, and free SMS bundles do not apply to these messages.
  • The voting line will be open from 16 March 2026 until 16 March 2027. The competition will be hosted via online participation.

  1. My Baby Book SA runs a premium rated SMS line for voting purposes. To use the service and vote for your baby, send an SMS with the keyword Baby + Baby's Name and Surname to 40131. SMSs are charged at R20.00 per SMS, Network fees and/or administration fees may be charged and free SMSs do not apply.   2. For each sms you send (R20/sms no free minutes apply) your baby will receive 20 (Twenty) votes allocated to their total.
  3. On certain days there will be special voting where one sms (R20/sms no free minutes) will get your baby up to 250 (two hundred and fifty) votes allocated to their total.
  4. There is no restriction on the number of votes one person/cellular number can send. Responsible voting is however advised in order not to run up excessive bills.
